The Federal Government has announced the commencement of applications for the second cohort of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme aimed at advancing human capital development.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, disclosed this in a Monday statement posted on his official X handle, describing the initiative as a key component of the Renewed Hope Agenda under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, to meet the growing demand for practical skills in the Nigerian economy.
He stated that the opening of applications for the second cohort of the National TVET Programme marks another step in advancing human capital development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Alausa noted that the programme recorded significant interest during its first phase, with over 1.3 million applications received nationwide.
He disclosed that the application portal will open at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, urging interested Nigerians, both young and old, to visit the programme’s official website for further details and registration.
The minister added that the high number of applications recorded in the previous phase reflects the increasing demand for practical skills and their impact on individuals and the broader economy.
He called on Nigerians across all age groups with aspirations for a better future to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling in the programme.
Alausa emphasised that the TVET initiative is designed to equip participants with relevant skills that would enable them to build sustainable careers and contribute meaningfully to national development.
