#BREAKING: Kwankwaso, Obi Set To Dump ADC For NDC

Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is set to defect from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) next week, according to the Kwankwasiyya movement.

Habibu Mohammed, spokesperson for the movement, disclosed on Friday night that the decision followed a unanimous endorsement by key stakeholders.

He stated that discussions with the NDC had reached an advanced stage, with only minor details left to be finalised.

Mohammed further revealed that Kwankwaso, alongside Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), is expected to formally join the NDC on Monday or Tuesday.

He expressed confidence that Obi and some other political figures would be part of the defection to the NDC.

The spokesperson also disclosed that representatives from all 44 local government areas of Kano State met at Kwankwaso’s residence on Friday around 3:30 p.m. to deliberate on the available options.

He added that the meeting ended with a unanimous resolution supporting Kwankwaso’s move to the NDC.

Mohammed noted that Kwankwaso is currently in Kano and is expected to return to Abuja by Sunday ahead of the planned defection.

It was further gathered that the former governor held a strategic meeting with members of the Kwankwasiyya structure at his residence on Miller Road in Kano State.
