The renowned broadcaster who doubles as the gubernatorial aspirant of the Accord Oyo State Alh Dr Oriyomi Hamzat facilitated the raising of over ₦20 million during the inauguration of the Association of Smoked and Frozen Fish Sellers of Nigeria.
The colorful event held at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, also featured the official presentation of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) certificate, marking the formal recognition of the association.Members of the association turned out in large numbers, demonstrating enthusiasm and support.
In what observers described as a continuation of his philanthropic engagements, Hamzat used the occasion to mobilize support and fundraising for the newly inaugurated body.While addressing the association, Oriyomi Hamzat called on fellow aspirants across political levels in Accord to support the association, emphasizing the critical role of women and grassroots traders in the socio-economic development of Oyo State.
He emphasized that their resilience, unity and economic contributions remain vital to the state’s progress.The inauguration ceremony attracted a number of political figures in Accord, including aspirants for gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly positions, many of whom made donations in support of the association.
Leaders of the Accord Party were also in attendance, expressing optimism about the party’s growing grassroots acceptance ahead of the 2027 general elections.Speaking with journalists, a member of the association praised Hamzat’s longstanding support:“Oriyomi Okiki has been our backbone since the inception of this association.
He played a key role in securing our CAC registration and has consistently supported us. He is our son and benefactor, and we are ready to reciprocate with our votes in 2027.” In a show of solidarity, members of the Pepper Sellers Association were also present, pledging their support for Hamzat’s political ambition.In the meantime, many political observers note that Oriyomi Hamzat’s increasing grassroots engagement and media presence are gradually drawing attention across Oyo State.
