Wife of renowned Nigerian cleric Enoch Adeboye, Foluke Adeboye, has revealed the drastic sacrifice she made after giving her life to Christ.
In a resurfaced video currently circulating online, Foluke Adeboye recounted how her lifestyle changed in the early days of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
She disclosed that she was deeply involved in fashion before becoming born again, owning several gold items, including jewellery prepared for her young child.
She explained that after joining the church, the use of such items became unacceptable within the faith community at the time.
Foluke Adeboye stated that instead of keeping or selling the items, she decided to dispose of all her gold possessions by throwing them into a lagoon.
She noted that fashion was generally important to women but became restricted after her conversion experience.
She further revealed that a family friend had suggested she could give the valuables to her mother to sell, but she declined the idea.
According to her, she believed that anything considered unsuitable for her should not be passed on to her mother.
She added that she briefly adopted the use of copper accessories as an alternative and spent a significant amount on them.
Foluke Adeboye maintained that despite the sacrifice, she has no regrets over her decision.
She stated that she no longer misses her former lifestyle, noting that she had fully committed herself to her faith.
