Please Join Army – Edo Governor Begs Youths

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has urged eligible youths in the state to take advantage of the ongoing Nigerian Army 91 Regular Recruits Intake by enlisting in the Army.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Patrick Ebojele, on Tuesday in Benin City.

According to the statement, the appeal followed the scheduled visit of the Nigerian Army sensitisation team to the state from April 8 to April 14.

The visit, it said, is aimed at engaging, guiding and supporting prospective applicants through the recruitment process.

The governor encouraged qualified young men and women in the state to participate in the exercise, noting that the recruitment offers opportunities for meaningful employment, national service and personal development.

He also called on Edo youths to come out in large numbers in order to improve the state’s participation and meet its national quota in the Army recruitment exercise, describing it as an avenue to build disciplined and purposeful careers.

Okpebholo further appealed to parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions and youth organisations to mobilise and encourage eligible candidates within their communities to take part in the exercise.

He advised interested applicants to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal for details on eligibility, requirements and application procedures.

The governor also urged candidates to ensure that all necessary documents are complete before presenting themselves at designated sensitisation centres within the stated period.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Edo State Government to creating opportunities for youths and called for collective support to ensure the success of the exercise.
