NECO 2026: BECE and SSCE Registration Deadline

The National Examinations Council, NECO, has informed schools that the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Education, BECE, and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE, Internal Registration applications are still active.

The Council stated that the applications can be downloaded from the NECO official website. It asked that all schools in each state begin the biodata capture and validation process for candidates.

Schools are also expected to follow the 2026 BECE and SSCE Internal Registration Guidelines during registration.

  • Last date for late registration by schools is Wednesday, 8 April 2026
  • Last date for closure of website is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, 8 April 2026

2026 NECO SSCE Internal registration deadline

For the 2026 SSCE Internal, the dates listed in the notice are:

  • Last date for normal registration by schools is Monday, 25 May 2026
  • Last date for late registration by schools is Friday, 29 May 2026
  • Last date for closure of website is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, 29 May 2026, without any extension

Important note for schools

The message from NECO is direct; schools are expected to act within the approved registration window and follow the 2026 BECE and SSCE Internal Registration Guidelines.
