The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has dismissed claims by the All Progressives Congress regarding its ongoing electronic membership registration, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Osun State Chairman of Accord, Victor Akande, said the registration exercise is progressing steadily, with thousands of new members joining the party daily across the state.
He noted that the growth reflects increasing grassroots acceptance and confidence in the party’s vision.
Akande stated that the party’s membership figures are based on genuine participation by citizens, contrasting it with what he described as inflated numbers allegedly being circulated by the APC.
He added that the people of Osun State are able to distinguish between authentic political engagement and misinformation.
The chairman maintained that the party remains focused on strengthening its relationship with residents through a credible and people-driven process, adding that it would not be distracted by what he described as propaganda from opposition elements.
Parts of the statement reads, “The attention of Accord has been drawn to yet another round of misinformation being circulated by the Osun APC regarding the ongoing electronic membership registration.
“Contrary to their false claims, Accord’s registration is progressing strongly, with thousands of genuine new members signing up daily across Osun. This organic growth reflects true grassroots acceptance and rising confidence in Accord’s vision.
“Unlike the padded figures paraded by the APC, Accord’s numbers are real — citizens joining out of conviction, not coercion. The APC’s propaganda only exposes their desperation and declining relevance.
“The people of Osun recognize authenticity when they see it. No amount of falsehood, inflated numbers, or political theater can overshadow the expanding support base Accord continues to build.
“Accord remains focused, undistracted, and committed to deepening its bond with the people through a credible, people‑driven process — leaving the APC scrambling in vain.”
