APC inaugurates 30 LG party chairmen in Oyo

Former deputy governor and chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo, has charged the newly inaugurated local government chairmen of the party to prioritise loyalty to the APC and ensure fairness to all party faithful in their respective domains.

Adeyemo gave the charge on Friday during the inauguration of party chairmen in 30 out of the 33 local government areas of the state.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the APC state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, was attended by prominent party leaders, members and supporters.

Addressing the new party leaders, Adeyemo said the party had reached a critical stage in its preparations for the 2027 general elections, stressing that the local government chairmen play a crucial role in mobilising support at the grassroots.

“We have reached a critical stage in our journey towards the 2027 general elections, and I want to inform you that much is expected from you as the handlers of our great party at the grassroots level.

“As local government party chairmen, you must remain loyal to the leadership of the party and, more importantly, to President Bola Tinubu, who remains our pride at all times,” he said.

Adeyemo noted that the success recorded during the recent ward, local government and state congresses demonstrated that the APC had grown stronger in Oyo State.

According to him, party stakeholders had worked hard to restore unity and place the APC on the path of peace, progress and electoral victory.

He said the party’s major objective was to deliver over 80 per cent of the total votes from Oyo State to President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election while also reclaiming the Agodi Government House.

Adeyemo also commended the Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle-led Local Organising Committee for conducting a successful congress.

He added that minor challenges recorded in a few local government areas would soon be resolved.

“You must immediately swing into action by mobilising other members of the executive to work with leaders, members and supporters of our great party day and night to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the next elections,” he said.

The local government chairmen sworn in at the ceremony were Bayonle Salami (Ibadan North), Ademola Adelowo (Atiba), Dotun Oladipupo (Oluyole), Rasaq Ajisope (Oyo West), Adeolu Ojetola (Ibarapa Central), Kareem Yinusa (Oyo East), Olawale Olaleye (Egbeda), Kazeem Alao (Ogo-Oluwa), and Adekanmbi Olusola (Ibadan North West).
